Hi, I’m Shewit! Yared and I went to the Tigray Region with Teacher Abdu and he took us on a long trip in the school bus past many strange shaped mountains. On our visit we were able to film the people, the food and all the traditional ceremonies. We also visited the AXUM obelisk, which was amazing! Yared says he will never forget the taste of white honey, TIHLO (a kind of porridge made from barley) and BELES (cactus seeds) and I will never forget the sounds of the KEBERO (traditional drum) and singing of the ASHENDA girls. When we returned home we shared our memories with our friends by playing traditional games from the region like KELELEBOSH (similar to Jacks) and, of course, sharing the local recipes.
