Hi, I’m Abebe! Kiya and I went to the Somali Region with Teacher Abdu driving the school bus. On our visit we were able to film the people, the food and all the traditional ceremonies and dances. During our journey we saw the WABISHEBELE river and the huge desert land of the region. It was so, so hot! There were many, many camels and goats. Kiya and I loved the taste of camel milk and TIBS (roasted goat meat). The Somali men were quite impressive in their traditional robes and the GILE (traditional knife) they carried made them look like ancient warriors. When we arrived home Shewit’s uncle from the region sent a goat and so we enjoyed sharing our memories of the region while eating delicious Somali TIBS with our friends at Aregash Hotel.
